We know it’s not easy to leave your home and pets in the care of strangers. Our goal here at Top Dog Pet Sitters is that once we have a Meet and Greet with pet parents, we are no longer strangers. Our clients often refer to us in Google reviews as “extended family members.” Along with vets, groomers, and dog trainers, we become part of the care team for your pet.
Who exactly is Top Dog Pet Sitters? Depending on the season, we are a professional team of 10-18 pet sitters and dog walkers. We are pet lovers, just like you! So, meet our TDPS team!
Our backgrounds
Erick and I own TDPS. Erick is retired from the defense industry where he spent years serving our country as an import/export manager. With a Master of Divinity, I am a retired minister. And on our pet sitter team, Brian, Amie, and Victoria are all educators. Amie is a self-employed bilingual speech-language pathologist. Often, she can be found volunteering for special needs events in McKinney that benefit adults and children. Brian is employed by MISD where he teaches vocational skills to adults with special needs. Victoria also works for MISD in the Special Populations program. Ale is employed by CPS. Hannah has been a volunteer with the SPCA. And Emma works in the mental health field. Ravin volunteers at a local animal shelter.
Our pet care experience
Everyone on the TDPS team has pet care experience, has attended pet education workshops, is (or will be) Pet First Aid/CPR certified, has been background checked by Acutraq and is a pet parent. We know how to care for special needs pets. From expressing bladders, diabetic shots, administering SubQ fluids, or administering asthma inhalers for diabetic cats, we understand some pets have unique needs.
Abby has been caring for pets for 10 years. She is a pet mom to cats Moe and Dahlia. Ale is the pet mom to one cat and 3 pups. Brian and Amie are parents to two pups while Hannah is a dog mom to Tootsie, a Maltizu. Emma is mom to a cat named “George” and worked with another pet care service in McKinney. Victoria is mom to one Doodle and 5 bunnies. Ravin was previously employed at PetSmart and is a pet parent to multiple cats, bearded dragons, geckos, a ball python, and a tarantula. Taylor is a mom to 3 Frenchies, 2 snakes, a bearded dragon, and worked for another pet care company. Michele is a pet mom to Koda, a Husky. Liz is mom to Olive, who is a Pit mix. Erick and I are pet parents to Sophie (a tripod) and Sasha, who is blind.
The TDPS team has completed over 54,000 requests for service. In addition to dogs and cats, we’ve cared for snakes, fancy rats, gerbils, hamsters, all kinds of birds and chickens, rabbits, geckos, bearded dragons, ferrets, guinea pigs, pot-bellied pigs, hedgehogs, and chinchillas.
Our interests
Erick and I love camping (26 states, so far), cruising, floating in our pool, and watching TCU and Oklahoma State football games. Abby enjoys watching true crime shows. Tim, an Aggie, is an award-winning Executive Sous Chef. When Tim is not “cheffing” he enjoys being with his family, coaching his son’s soccer team, and watching/playing football. Liz is a student at Oklahoma State University where she is studying Communications/Theater. She is in the OSU Choir and Opera and has a 4.0 GPA. She enjoys painting and admits that she is obsessed with dogs.
Amie enjoys reading, especially historical fiction and true crime. She also adores big dogs. Ale (Alejandra) enjoys birdwatching, gardening, and hiking. Ask Brian what his hobbies are, and he will tell you he’s too busy raising three daughters to have any hobbies!
Hannah is a Psychology student at Collin College. When not pet sitting, she enjoys listening to country music and spending time with her friends and family.
Emma enjoys traveling. Victoria loves squirrels. In her free time, Ravin enjoys drawing and singing (she’s a soprano). Mandy enjoys painting. She began with TDPS as a client and quickly became a part of the TDPS Team. Taylor enjoys walking, tennis, and spending time with her family and friends. Michele had potty-trained bearded dragons and prairie dogs and in her spare time, cheers on her baseball-playing son.
Going above and beyond for pets
One of the reasons TDPS has a stellar reputation is that our team goes above and beyond to deliver exceptional service. Here are just a few examples:
A client’s daughter left her Teddy Bear for us to take care of. Pet sitters Tim and Hannah included photos of Teddy Bear and shared stories of its day in the pet journal.
Pet sitter Emma had car trouble. Instead of calling and saying she wasn’t able to work, Emma took an Uber to all of her visits.
Pet sitter Kellie removed a tick, put it in a plastic sandwich bag, and sent photos to the client so the client could show her vet.
All of us have washed doggie diapers, disposed of dead birds in yards so that dogs do not eat them, cleaned up endless crates full of diarrhea, and disposed of mice that cats have presented to us.
Now that you’ve learned about our amazing team, check out their individual bios here. They’re great people who provide exceptional service, which is why TDPS has won Best in McKinney awards many times and why we were ranked in the Top 10 Best Pet Care services in Texas. They are also why Top Dog Pet Sitters has over 125 five-star Google reviews. Schedule a Meet and Greet today to meet our team and learn how we can become part of your pet’s family.
